Our Team
Sung Joon is the CEO of WBG Power Solutions (WBGPS), developing medium-voltage, high-frequency (MV/HF) SiC switching platforms that enable solid-state transformers (SST) and MVDC power architectures for AI-scale data centers and next-generation grid infrastructure.
He brings over two decades of leadership in power semiconductors and advanced systems.
Most recently, he served as Vice President and General Manager of the SiC Device & Module Business Unit at Coherent, where he built and led global teams and secured design wins with leading OEMs across electric vehicle and industrial markets.
Previously, he founded Global Power Technology Group (now SemiQ), focused on SiC epitaxy, devices, and modules, and CENIX, an optical transceiver company. He began his career at AT&T Bell Labs, leading advanced optical transponder development.
He holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees from the California Institute of Technology and an MBA from Purdue University.
Sergey Reshanov is the Head of Device Engineering of WBG Power Solutions (WBGPS), responsible for the design and fabrication of SiC power devices. He was a Senior Manager at Coherent with the responsibility for development of SiC power semiconductor device products.
Previously he was a co-founder of Ascatron AB, Sweden, where he focused on SiC epitaxial material and device development. Prior to Ascatron he was with Acreo Swedish ICT, Sweden, where he specialized in electrical characterization and process technologies of SiC, including advanced epitaxy.
He received his Engineering degree in microelectronics from St.-Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI”, Russia, and Dr. rer. nat. degree from Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany.
Philippe Dupin is the Head of Module Engineering of WBG Power Solutions (WBGPS), responsible for integration and fabrication of SiC power modules. He has 25 years of experience managing industrial sites and leading multidisciplinary organizations. He has led and united teams in Marketing, Research and Development, Production, Quality, Cost Control, and Human Resources to achieve organizational objectives in an international context. As Director of Coherent Power Modules for 3 years, he has a thorough understanding of the power electronics market, primarily in the Solar, EV, Welding and Aerospace sectors.
Previously, he was the Director of Microsemi Power Modules for 20 years, focused on on-site prototyping, offshore mass production, European funded aerospace programs and cost control.
YB Park is the Head of Power Electronics of WBG Power Solutions (WBGPS), responsible for the electrical design of SiC power modules. He has over two decades experience in the electronics industry, especially motor system and AC-DC off-line power converter systems.
He was a Senior Manager of the SiC division in Coherent from 2022-2025.
Previously, he was the Director of System and Application engineering in Power Conversion and marketing at Fairchild Semiconductor and on Semiconductor. He holds more than 50 US patents, published conference papers and application notes.
He holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Pusan National University.
Richard Woodin is an Advisor to WBG Power Solutions (WBGPS), assisting with product and technology direction and implementation. He has worked in wide bandgap technologies for over three decades including the growth of both synthetic diamond and SiC, SiC device development, and power device packaging . Most recently he served as Director of Operations of the SiC Device & Module Business Unit at Coherent.
Previously, he was the General Manager of Global Power Technology Group (now SemiQ), and Extreme Devices. He began his career at Exxon Research and Development.
He holds a BS degree from Michigan State University and a PhD degree from the California Institute of Technology.
